​I use inks and fluid acrylics to make works inspired by playful, intimate scenes from the everyday. Dribbling tongues, inquisitive hands and half eaten food all come together in heavily cropped images to leave just a focused glimpse of the scene. By isolating these images I encourage the viewer to mediate on small acts and moments that make up day to day life. 

By working on paper using a wet on wet method of painting, I create unpredictable shapes that couldn’t be achieved by hand. I invite the viewer to appreciate the beauty in small areas of merging and uncontrollable colour, created by pooling paint, splatters and excessive washes of water.

My recent body of work has been an exploration of sexuality and relationships through the senses- namely taste and touch. In these paintings fruits, flowers and fingers question the ways in which various sensations can evoke different emotions, whether that’s the feeling of something soft on your skin or slimy passion fruit seeds on your tongue. I enjoy creating imagined narratives within my works, often encouraging a subtle humour through the use of gently bawdy imagery to celebrate the body and our relationships to others in ways both silly and sensual.
