I use inks and fluid acrylics to make playful and intimate works exploring the drive to experience and discover different sensations. Dribbling tongues, inquisitive hands , flora and fauna all come together in heavily cropped images to leave a focused glimpse of the scene. 

By working on paper and raw canvas using water based media and a wet on wet method of painting, I embrace the fluid and translucent qualities of the medium to play with layered and bleeding pigment. I invite the viewer to appreciate the beauty in small, subtle areas of merging colour created by pooling paint, splatters and excessive washes of water.

My recent body of work has been exploring themes of sexuality, pleasure, and discovery through the senses- namely taste and touch. In these paintings, the use of fruit, fingers and flowers explore the ways in which various sensations can evoke different emotions, whether that’s the feeling of a snake wrapped around your thigh or something soft on your tongue. I enjoy creating imagined narratives within my works, placing the female figure in fantastical worlds where they are free to discover the wonders and dangers of their surroundings. My paintings often encouraging a subtle humour through the use of gently bawdy imagery to celebrate the body and our place in nature in ways both silly and sensual.
